I think I’d go with the wolverine, and this has nothing to do with Great Lakes region athletic, agricultural, or other cultural rivalries.

Though I would take the world’s coolest animal hands down over the cheesy remake of a cheezy neo-con persecution fantasy. (then again the original was bad enough to be enjoyable, but still not nearly as cool as a real wolverine)
