I hope it’s cooler in your part of the great Eastness, Historiann, than I found it to be on my return today to the Mud’Lantic. I suppose it’s something I could have brought back from Kowloon, neglecting to put it on my customs form: bugs, insects, snails, disease cultures (do they EVER allow THOSE in, after you talk to the agriculture officer?), pesky centigrades, and the like?

Thanks for the shots of Baker tower. I’m getting homesick, though I have to agree with JJO on the whole 128 thing. I discovered during last weeks eastern swing that my “combat driving” days are well and truly behind me.

How FAR East are you coming, anyway, Historiann? At this old China treaty port, we have the internets alright, but I couldn’t get this blog except on the “cached” version. Anyway, have a good summer ramble thru the brambles, and all that. Plus some good research karma.

I went out of EWR last week; totally better than LGA.

Unlike Jonathan Richman, I’ve never much liked route 128 when it’s dark outside. Or light, for that matter. That road sucks. Maybe it was nicer in 1972 or whenever.
