Fratguy–I don’t think nuts, berries, and grasses earn all that much interest at the bank. And I checked the Xtranormal movie character options, and there are no foxes. The only animal character is a pretty tired looking teddy-bear type creature.

Maybe the forest creastures should put put a minimum amount of the grant money into an interest bearing FDIC protected savings account, spend the balance, and invite Mr Todd to choke on the monthly dividend check.

Indyanna got the symbolism right, I think: Mr. Tod is not the chief carnivore–he’s no wolf or cougar. He’s a schlubby fox, preditor to some, prey to others.

Roxie, dogs can’t run the forest: they’re domesticated! The non-profit forest’s bylaws specifically exclude leadership roles for any domesticated species. (They can adjunt, though, if there’s a demand for their expertise.)

This is a very scary story, Historiann, darn near the scariest story I have ever read. I think things would have gone better for these woodland creatures if they had let a really smart, sweet, and loyal DOG run the show.

Oh, I also think this story would have made a most excellent Xtranormal cartoon. Get in the game, girl — It’s time to animate!

C’mon you stakeholders, make some NOISE out there!! If Doc Tod had been a better vulpinologist, he’d”v realized he was a fox, and not a wolf, and he might have gotten tenure somewhere. Instead he went to manager school on weekends and then worked his way up the chain of command at Sherwood State U. Let’s sell him to a foundation.
