Valentine’s Day Greetings

Posted under: childhood, fluff, happy endings

Oh, look–a pony!  (The best kind, too–one that doesn’t poop.)

We’re in Steamboat Springs, and it’s a powder day, friends, so I’m hitting the slopes.  Happy Valentine’s Day to all, and thanks for your thoughtful readership and comments.

Have a great day on the slopes! (Or sitting by a fire drinking a hot toddy).

We don’t “do” Valentine’s chez moi, but I do love love love candy, especially cheap all-sugar candy. So I’m spending the afternoon scarfing down red hots and caramels (although to be honest the caramels are fancy artisan salt caramels).

Hope everyone with a sweet tooth has a day full of sugar!

    I’m thinking a blogger’s ski weekend?

This is a way-happier post than some recently, especially yesterday’s! One good steed deserves another, so hope to “retaliate” this one (in the positive 18th century sense of that term) in due horse–but prob’ly not in your corral by the time you return. It’s packed-powder for us too as we await tomorrow’s “Third Storm” here in the worn-down Appalachians. (“The Apps is the New Rockies” is being bandied hereabouts as a new regional destination-tourism slogan or trademark).

Thanks and have a good one!

Hey, are you still Steamboatin’ ™, Histoiann? I only just noticed it’s President’s Day, which isn’t formally celebrated here at Brezhnev State. We’re in the fully-locked overhead position for 4-8 more inches tonight. My battery’s dead, the car is half-dug out, at best, and the trudge to campus is getting squirrelier by the day. The Times national weather map seems to show a front back-dooring into NW Colorado, too, so go easy if you go.

And thanx for the pony, which is affixed to my door!
