Our entire discipline needs a good shake-up in mindset. Too often historians imagine themselves as "gatekeepers" who know the best way to do history (and this most often is deployed against white women, women and men of color, GLBTQ of all races, etc., etc.). And then there are those from the latter groups who pick up this same mentality and deploy it against their own. Alas, I am saddened, but not surprised to hear of these things.
